I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, as the youngest of five children to the late John Victor and Virginia Lee Franklin.
At the tender age of nine, I was baptized, joined the choir, and have continued steadfastly serving in the vineyard for the Lord ever since.
In 1993, I was blessed with a basketball scholarship to Bethune-Cookman University. where I earned a B.A. in Mass Communication with concentrations in Radio Production and Public Relations/Advertising. After graduating in 1998, I moved to Orlando, Florida, with my loving husband of 25 years and our precious four-legged baby girl pup, Ginger.
In 2023, we relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, where I now serve as Worship Leader and Choir Director at South Central Church of Christ. I am also an author, speaker, coach, songwriter, and producer. My husband Fred and I co-host 'The Neal's Appeal,' a podcast where we discuss marriage, relationships, and other topics for living a thriving life.
Although I wear many hats, my primary profession, passion, and love is hair. live been a professional hairstylist for over 25 years, but I've been styling hair since the age of 14.
My most recent life challenge of losing all my hair within 44 days has compelled me to publicly share my story to encourage and empower those who may be facing sudden, abrupt life-changing challenges.
